Having over ten years experience working in politics and government, Lauren Bierman firmly subscribes to the adage “all politics are local.” She cut her teeth at a political consulting firm, where she oversaw dozens of state and local campaigns and managed the government affairs division. She advised numerous labor and non-profit clients including the American Red Cross, Children’s Health Fund, and the Hotel Trades Council.
Most recently, Lauren worked at New York’s Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC) focusing on policies aimed at business attraction and retention. In 2012 she was the campaign manager for Hakeem Jeffries’ successful congressional bid and in 2011 was named one of City and State’s 40 under 40 Rising Stars.
Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and has a Master’s in Public Administration from Baruch’s School of Public Affairs. A hard core DIYer, she can be found on the weekends scoping out local flea markets – and even New York City streets – searching for hidden gem pieces of old furniture she can make over.
