Leone Kraus is responsible for creating new business partnerships for GSG. For over fifteen years, Leone has served in various marketing, account execution, sales support, and business development roles. She’s worked with Fortune 100 clients including Target, Avery Dennison, HBO, and Bank of America, as well as numerous foundations and nonprofits such as the REI Foundation, Malaria No More, and Freedom to Marry. Leone’s business development approach is grounded in innovative thinking and applying new approaches to solving challenges. She is always focused on long-term value for our partners.
Leone earned her MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from New York University. In 2012, her final capstone, Social Media Ethics and the LGBT Community, was published by Harvard’s LGBTQ Policy Journal; she has spoken on panels and managed a blog for years on the topic.
She most recently served as head of corporate partnerships for The Mountaineers, where she remains on the Advisory Council. Leone is on the board of directors for Immigration Equality, the nation’s leading immigrant rights organization. Previously, she served five years as city director in Seattle for Lesbians Who Tech, helping create events and opportunities for LGBTQ women and allies to connect with Seattle-based tech companies. In addition, Leone volunteers with Alley Acres, as food sustainability, farming, and organic foods are very important to her.
Outside of her volunteer work, Leone serves as a mentor for those who are looking to advance in their careers, are interested in business development, or in translating their nonprofit skills to the corporate sector. When Leone isn’t working or volunteering, you can find her cycling through Washington state’s wine and farm country, camping in the mountains with her wife and daughter, or strumming a few songs on her acoustic.
