Never one to shy away from sharing her opinion, Theresa Gilbert knew her career would involve communications. But choosing a college major was a challenge, until she read an article about public relations firms that were recruiting former cheerleaders. Theresa attended Quinnipiac University where she earned degrees in public relations and sociology, and learned to respond to crises much larger than losing the big game.
With years of experience working for New England’s largest utility company, Theresa has become an expert in crisis communications planning and response. When back-to-back catastrophic storms struck Connecticut in 2011 and caused two of the largest power outages in the state’s history, Theresa was on the front lines of communications response, launching and managing the company’s social media channels.
At GSG, she brings a high level of enthusiasm and energy to delivering strategic communications, media relations and crisis communications support to her clients. Having recently completed her law degree while working full time, Theresa is also on a mission to find new hobbies, in addition to food and country music, to fill her newly discovered free time.
